I went to Dark Shepherd for a friend’s birthday. The staff was accommodating with our requests to keep the meals a secret until they arrived at the table. The recommendations were excellent, especially Hurilo’s choice of cocktails; he paired one with our choice of mains and another with our desserts. I’m honestly having trouble picking a favourite dish. I will say, don't snub the cabbage. It’s really damn good.

We had a wonderful experience at Dark Shepherd, especially thanks to Hayley. Her warm and attentive service made us feel very welcome, and as first-time visitors, it definitely made us want to come back again. The banquet set was generous and reasonably priced, perfect for a family catch-up in a sophisticated setting. Overall, a lovely experience with worthy value.

We had the pleasure of the daylight banquet with the wine parings that were a perfect match with our meals and right form the first greeting and through out service all the meals are well presented. The food and pleasant service made it a worthwhile must do again. A big thank you to the chefs and service teams that made it an enjoyable experience. We're looking to going back again!

From the moment we arrived at Dark Shepherd, we knew we were in for something special. The design of the restaurant is absolutely stunning modern, atmospheric, and thoughtfully curated to create a truly elevated dining experience. The staff were exceptional from the very beginning. Every interaction was professional, warm, and attentive, setting the tone for a wonderful evening. We were seated immediately at what we genuinely believe was the best table in the restaurant, offering a spacious setting with a beautiful vantage point overlooking the entire space. The food was outstanding. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented, and crafted with clear attention to detail. It’s rare to find a place where the ambience, service, and cuisine all align so perfectly, but Dark Shepherd delivered on every level. This experience was memorable in every way, and I will absolutely be returning to Brisbane just to dine here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional night out. - Demi

Their calamari is one of the BEST calamari entrées I’ve ever had. It was so light and crispy, not too oily, and the paprika sauce was just right, the best way to start the meal. 10/10 for me. Also got the barramundi and it was absolutely amazing and paired perfectly with the tomato sauce. It really exceeded my expectations. The toothfish was also delicious, but the barramundi was definitely my favourite. The baklava was also good, but a bit too sweet for my liking. Overall, it was such a great experience. Special thanks to our wonderful server, Augustine, who made sure to check on us throughout our meal. The service was amazing — thank you so much! :)

The food was impressive, especially the grilled octopus, which was cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. We also ordered the whole lamb shoulder, which was a generous portion for a group of three. The meat was very tender and of high quality. While the food was delicious, the service could be improved. We waited quite a while for our order, and the staff seemed unaware that we were ready. When we asked to take a photo, it felt rushed. Overall, the food was worth the money, but the service and attention to detail could be enhanced to match the fine dining experience.

Dark Shepherd was an absolute standout. After leaving another nearby restaurant due to poor service, we were warmly welcomed here despite the venue being heavily booked — and we’re so glad we were. We enjoyed the Daylight Banquet, and every dish was exceptional. The lamb shoulder exceeded expectations, which is a difficult feat for us due to previous experiences setting the bar high. Dessert was unexpected and not just a lovely surprise but divine! Paired with beautiful smooth cocktails, this was easily the best dining experience we have had in Brisbane. What truly elevated the experience was the service, especially from Hayley who waited our table. Her refreshingly personable and genuine approach completely turned our afternoon around. She is a naturally lovely young person who clearly loves her workplace, and after a disappointing waitstaff experience elsewhere immediately prior, she was exactly what we needed. Attentive, warm, and effortlessly professional whilst remaining genuine. We loved it so much that we booked again for the following Saturday to enjoy with visiting friends. Outstanding from start to finish. Highly recommended.

We booked a table here for 6 of us to celebrate my brothers 41st birthday. The Lunch banquette was what we went with as it had 8 different dishes to try. After starting off with the pillow bread with Betroot hummus we knew we were in for a great experience regarding the food. Fortunately, thats exactly how it went👌 The lamb shoulder was remarkable! And finishing off with the Biscoff cheesecake was pure satisfaction. I have to give a big shoutout to our Waiter Finn. Truly incredible service and very welcoming from the get go. He displayed great knowledge of both the Food & Beverage menu and seemed to float in and out to help us at exactly the right times. He made our experience extra special, thank you mate. We will be back for sure.

We had an amazing dining experience here. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and thoughtful. They arranged a table for us in a very private and beautiful spot, and you could really see the care they put into every detail of the setup. Throughout the evening, the service was exceptional. Several staff members came by to check on us and make sure everything was perfect. Even without us asking, they were always ready to respond quickly and take care of anything we might need. What impressed us the most was how personalized the service felt. When we asked about a special drink, they even went the extra mile to prepare it for us. You can truly see the dedication and effort behind both the drinks and the cocktails — everything was high quality and beautifully presented. The food was absolutely delicious and honestly exceeded our expectations for the price. The value for money is excellent. We had such a wonderful time — great food, great drinks, and a very comfortable atmosphere. Every detail made us feel like VIP guests. This restaurant absolutely deserves five stars. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be coming back again.
